A unique and historical self-contained cottage, Rachel’s Cottage is one of the last standing of its kind. Following the floods of 1897, the people of Texas began to move up the hill and Rachel’s cottage is one of these original buildings. Rustic but cosy, enjoy what it was like to live in a bygone era. Overnight, weekend and weekly bookings welcome.
The operator’s Great-Aunt, Rachel Middleton, was born in the cottage in 1898 and lived there until her passing in 1986. Rachel was well known around the Texas district for her cooking and great hospitality. The property was sold in 1986, but was bought back by Rachel’s great-niece in 2005, renovated and now stands as a legacy to a special lady.
