Yelarbon

Yelarbon, on the Cunningham Highway in southern Queensland, is on the edge of Australia's most easterly Spinifex Desert and home to the "Desert Jewels" Biodiversity Walk and the Yelarbon Lagoon, a great habitat for waterbirds. The natural treasures of this area are unique and fascinating, so take the time to slow down, refocus and prepare to be intrigued. You'll be surprised at what you will see if you stop and take a closer look.

Yelarbon is situated 40 km west of Inglewood and 50 km east of Goondiwindi. It has a population of around 200 residents and has an abundance of unique fauna and flora.

In 2007 the Desert Jewels Biodiversity Walk was constructed to showcase the variety of habitats to be experienced at the Common and to help visitors to appreciate the hidden treasures to be discovered in this unassuming place. Yelarbon's new information brochure which includes more information on the Desert Jewels Walk can be downloaded here, along with a street map locating all the great facilities Yelarbon has to offer.

Yelarbon is great place to set up camp at one of the many camping and fishing spots around the area, so why not stop and enjoy what Yelarbon has to offer.
